Job summary

SOUND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES is seeking an Employment Specialist to support adults with developmental disabilities. Under the direction of the Executive Director, you will manage a caseload, provide employment and community access services, and collaborate with families, employers, and staff to ensure successful client transitions.

The role emphasizes marketing, client assessment, resume preparation, transportation planning, on-site training, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or commensurate training/experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with persons with developmental disabilities.
• Experience in marketing or job development desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license and access to a vehicle; driving record checked.

Responsibilities

• Market and develop relationships with employers and the community to create job opportunities.
• Assess clients, identify skills, and prepare resumes and job analyses.
• Coordinate communication with clients, families, employers, and staff for successful transition.
• Arrange transportation to and from work with the support network.
• Develop direct instruction plans for on-site training and social integration.
• Create Individual Employment Plans and progress reports, maintaining on-the-job records.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the director.
