As a Support Teacher at Primrose School of South Riding, located at 43705 Eastgate View Drive, Chantilly, VA 20152, you will help young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.

Primrose School of South Riding is an accredited private preschool providing a premier educational childcare experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infants through elementary-aged school children.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage the daily classroom functions of a group of children.
2. Observe all rules and regulations at Primrose School of South Riding and adhere to local, state, or national regulatory agencies concerning the health, safety, and care of children.
3. Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules following the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
4. Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom environment that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions confidently.
5. Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while setting clear and consistent behavioral expectations.
6. Take responsibility for classroom cleanliness and maintenance of common areas and playgrounds.
7. Maintain a professional personal appearance according to the guidelines in the Employee Handbook.
8. Assist in other duties as determined by the Director or designee.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. to handle children safely and respond to emergencies. For Infant and Toddler teachers, ability to properly lift infants into and out of cribs.
