Job summary

RS EDEN is seeking a Support Staff/Van Driver in Minneapolis to transport program participants and their children while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The role requires crisis tolerance and the ability to work through difficult situations with a positive image, including light lifting and long sitting periods.

Responsibilities include safe transportation, van maintenance, and adherence to program policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a favorable driving record.
  • Preferred familiarity with Windows, MS Word, Excel and Access.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling PHI and client data.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Familiarity with standard office procedures and business phone systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation for program participants and children to appointments and activities.
  • Ensure passenger safety by enforcing seat belts and child safety seats.
  • Perform routine van maintenance checks when required.
  • Maintain a good driving record in line with agency policy.
  • Provide client data to outside agencies with proper release and maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow program policies and emergency procedures; respond to medical needs as needed.

Description

Summary

The Support Staff/Van Driver provides customer service and supports program needs. This individual provides transportation for program participants and their children. They must possess a high level of crisis tolerance, and the ability to work through crisis situations in a professional and positive manner. Also, this individual must have the ability to convey a positive and professional image to participants, staff and visitors and must be able to maintain confidentiality. Having good organizational skills and being able to perform duties involving light lifting, and ability to sit for long periods of time is preferred. This position is classified as a category 1 driving position.

Pay ranges from $20-$22 per hour

Duties include/but are not limited to:

  • Provide transportation support, following all state driving and traffic laws for program participants and children to treatment, daycare, medical appointments, legal appointments, recreational activities, and other locations determined by program directors of SUD programs.
  • Ensure safety of all passengers by enforcing the use of safety belts and infant/child safety seats, as appropriate.
  • Provide van maintenance support when required, conducting routine checks and services.
  • Maintain favorable driving record (per agency policy).
  • Provide general participant assistance and client data to outside agencies with proper release.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Provide consistency in the program by maintaining all participant restrictions communicated by program staff.
  • Communicate to staff any inappropriate or suspected inappropriate client behavior.
  • Understand and follow policies and procedures related to client and program rules and regulations to assure consistency in client services and program.
  • Know and follow program emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Understand and follow vulnerable adult policy and reporting procedures.
  • Understand and follow incident/accident reporting policies and procedures.
  • Understand and follow emergency fire and weather policies and procedures.
  • Respond to client emergency medical needs, when required.
  • Promote and instill positive attitude and image in employees and clients.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training as required or directed.
  • Attain and promote a positive, safe, harmonious, productive and challenging work environment.
  • Safeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA notification statement and standards.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver's License with a favorable driving record.

Preferred Requirement

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating system/MSWord/Excel/Access.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to convey a positive, courteous, and professional image.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills. Efficiency in prioritizing tasks.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures, business phone systems and equipment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
