St. John’s Ministries in Green Bay seeks a compassionate Support Staff member to create a warm, welcoming environment for shelter guests. You will assist with guest check-in, sign-in and bunk assignments, and help manage nightly chores in a safe setting.

Responsibilities include distributing and recording medications, coordinating with security, handling donations, laundry, and communicating guest issues to the Shift Lead, while engaging respectfully with guests daily.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and co-occurring mental health and/or substance use disorders.
• A strong desire to serve others in the community.
• A positive attitude.
• A calm demeanor when dealing with challenges.
• Reliable and punctual for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to work well as a member of a team.
• Ability multi-task and prioritize tasks.

Weprovide services across four locations.At our two seasonal emergency sheltersof lastresort, we provide adults experiencing homelessness with a safe place to sleep during the harsh winter months.At the Micah Center and Wellspring, our two daytime resource centers, we equip adults experiencing homelessness – as well as community members at-risk – with the tools to achieve self-sufficiency.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

Physical Demands:

• Mobility: Regularly required to sit, stand, climb stairs, walk for extended periods of time

Work Environment:

• Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols, including the use of PPE, to minimize health risks

• Supplies: Cleaning supplies are utilized to help prevent the spread of cold and flu viruses, ensuring a healthier environment for everyone
