Job summary

Labcorp in Houston, TX is seeking a Support Services Team Leader for the 3rd shift (Tue-Sat, 2:30 am–11:00 am). The role focuses on supervising daily operations, guiding the team through processes, and preparing laboratory specimens for analysis.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential. Preferred candidates have Labcorp experience, an associate degree, and at least 4 years in a medical/clinical lab setting with supervisory or leadership experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3 years of experience.
• Familiarity with laboratory operations and policies.
• Strong computer skills and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to pass a color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas.
• Encourage process improvements and best practices.
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

• Enforce and manage policies and procedures.
• Perform administrative duties as needed.

Work Schedule: 3rd Shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 2:30 am - 11:00 am, with rotating holidays/weekends and overtime as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the supervision of the day-to-day operations
• Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
• Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areasEncourage process improvements and best practices
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Resolve any production errors as requested by management
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualification:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 3 years of experience

Preferred Qualification:

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Associates degree
• 4 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
• 4 years supervisory or leadership experience

Additional Job Standards:

• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
