Job summary

Alverno Labs in Chicago is seeking a laboratory assistant to perform specimen processing and to analyze, evaluate, and report waived and moderately complex test results in line with departmental procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 12–18 months of related laboratory experience, along with knowledge of medical terminology and a background in a medical laboratory setting. This role is full-time, with shift variations including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and related lab exposure.
• 12–18 months of laboratory assistance experience is preferred.
• Background in medical terminology and basic laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

• This role involves specimen processing and the analysis, evaluation and reporting of waived and moderately complex laboratory test results according to procedures.
• Ensure timely, accurate data and proper specimen handling in a clinical laboratory setting.
