Job summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking an inspector with power plant experience to support QA activities, including boiler tube inspections, welding data tracking, and collaboration with authorized inspectors. The candidate should be familiar with boiler pressure parts, piping codes, and welding procedures.

The role requires working at heights on scaffolds and exposure to extreme conditions. The ideal candidate can certify to Level 2 VT, PT and MT inspections and contribute to outage reports and repair

Qualifications

  • Experience with boiler tube inspections and related welding processes.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection practices in power plants.
  • Ability to interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Capable of climbing scaffolds and performing inspections at heights.

Responsibilities

Job Description
  • Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements;
  • Perform cleanup duties;
  • Perform material handling and storage duties;
  • Work with Authorized inspector on code work;
  • Develop and track weld data sheets;
  • Knowledge of Power Plant Quality processes;
  • Knowledge of Failure Mechanism - Tubes;
  • Familiar with EPRI (Organization the helps/consults with Power Plants on Quality Inspections);
  • Perform boiler tube Inspections identifying boiler leaks, tube conditions, make repair recommendations and inspect and track welds in the field.;
  • CWI not needed, but would be a plus;
  • Power Plant Experience;
  • Welding knowledge and understanding of WPS and metallurgy;
  • Able to perform visual and PT weld examinations;
  • Write outage reports with inspection findings, status of repairs and recommendations for repairs required during future outages.;
  • Familiar with boiler pressure parts and piping codes;
  • Candidate will need to be willing to work at heights off ladders, scaffolds, sky climbers and peg boards.;
  • Candidate must be able to certify to Level 2 VT, PT and MT inspections

  • Working Conditions: Work in extreme heat or cold; Work where noise level is above 85 decibels; Work in wet/humid environment; Work in cramped quarters; Work in environment of fluctuating ventilation; Work inside and outside
