Cascades is hiring a Support General Laborer in Niagara Falls for a full-time, day-shift role with eventual 12-hour rotating shifts. The position offers health benefits, retirement plan contributions, and profit-sharing opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, noise, heat, and moving machinery.

Responsibilities

• Assist teams with day-to-day operational tasks as needed.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with mill housekeeping standards.
• Remove scrap, broke, and waste materials from production areas.
• Assist with general plant cleaning, sweeping, and debris removal.
• Support recycling and waste management processes.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Assist maintenance with basic equipment cleaning and non-technical support tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support mill operations.
• Work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.

• Full-time position with guaranteed hours for job stability
• Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm, which eventually will be moved (as needed) to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (6:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), including holidays and weekends. Rotation alternates every 4 weeks with 2 weekends off each month. 7 days off every month.

What you’ll do

As aSupport General Laborer, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape.

The General Laborer supports safe and efficient mill operations by performing a variety of production, housekeeping, and equipment support tasks.

• Assist teams with day-to-day operational tasks as needed.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with mill housekeeping standards.

• Follow all mill safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and PPE requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately.
• Comply with environmental regulations and proper handling of chemicals and materials.
