Job summary

Lancaster County is seeking an entry-level Caseworker Trainee to join the BHDS agency. You will train in locating, coordinating and monitoring services for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families, under supervision. After a six-month probation, you may advance to the Caseworker role.

You will learn to document, refer to community resources, and manage a caseload with up to 35 clients while completing mandatory trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and training with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Knowledge of human development and behavior.
• Ability to learn laws, regulations and agency policies.

Responsibilities

• Participates in formal and informal training to learn the agency functions and case management techniques.
• Assists clients and families to develop potential to resolve social, health, emotional and economic problems.
• Manages a caseload of up to 35 clients under supervision, and completes required documentation.
