Job summary

Southeast Missouri Residential Services, a State of Missouri facility, is seeking a Support Care Assistant to provide hands-on, one-on-one care for consumers in a 24/7 setting. You will assist with daily activities, monitor clients, and participate in treatment plans under supervision.

Requirements include 1-2 years of relevant experience, being at least 18, ability to pass background checks, and willingness to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, direct care to clients including observations, treatment, and monitoring.
• Ability to assist with daily activities such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
• Must pass a background screening and be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read written materials and communicate effectively with clients and staff.
• Knowledge of basic nursing, first aid and emergency treatments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on, direct care to clients including observations, treatment, and monitoring.
• First-level direct care accountable for assisting clients with daily activities such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks.
• Scheduling/Supervising as required in the absence of the Supervising Support Care Assistant.
• Develop and/or implement habilitation or treatment plans.
• Teach or assist in developing client skills related to self-help, play, education, and socialization.
• Assist and/or provide basic health care for clients, such a checking vital signs and height/weight.
• Assists in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned; collects and maintains records of fluid intake and output; and reports on the condition of clients.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for client care and treatment activities.
• Performing moderately complex duties without detailed instruction; Performs other related work as assigned.
• Reporting to work on time and as scheduled.
• Working overtime as needed to retain adequate staffing.
• May perform passing medications (as medication aide) after certification by facility officials.
• Other duties as assigned.
