This vacancy is for a GS-2005-6/7, Supply Technician located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, ALC MEDIUM RANGE RECOVERY -MRR PRODUCT LINE in ELIZABETH CITY, North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as a Supply Technician and will be responsible for performing limited phases of logistic management work that supports the repair and supply functions related to product line. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Determining the validity of recommended buys on routine and non-routine items.

Reviewing requirements to rework and purchase parts and commit funds, typically on moderate dollar items. Identifying potential problems that may not be readily apparent. Maintaining an awareness of backorders for critical components and taking action equivalent to their assigned level of authority. Monitoring other Government Agency (OGA) and commercial order status and following up on past due orders.

Forecasting material requirements based on current and projected workloads and compiling information necessary for consideration in survey actions relating to loss, damage or destruction of Government- owned property.
