Job summary

Shaw Industries Ltd. is seeking a Supply Room Lead to coordinate the plant storeroom, ensure adequate parts and materials, and support cost reporting. You will manage inventory, process receipts and withdrawals, and work closely with engineering and accounting.

The role requires forklift operation, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and TPM practices. On-site position based in Dalton, GA with standard 8-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of the plant storeroom and maintain inventory of parts and materials.
• Assist in receiving, unloading, stocking, and inventory control.
• Dispensing maintenance items and supplies.
• Review withdrawal cards and receiving reports for accuracy and deliver to accounting.
• Maintain part inventory on computer and requisition parts as needed.
• Edit database when parts are received or removed from storeroom.
• Ensure purchase orders are approved and parts arrive as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust reorder points/quantities.
• Assist engineering in cost estimates and reporting.
• Operate forklift to move shipments from Shaw Chem loading docks.
• Prepare items for repair and handle shipping documents.
• Follow TPM duties as outlined on Shawweb.

Position Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Coordinate activities of the plant storeroom and maintain an adequate supply of parts and materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

(Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

• Assist in the receiving, unloading, stocking, maintaining in inventory.
• Dispensing maintenance items and supplies.
• Daily review of the store’s withdrawal cards and receiving reports for correctness and delivers to accounting.
• Maintain part inventory on computer and requisition parts and materials for inventory.
• Edit the computer’s data base when parts are received or removed from storeroom.
• Ensure that all purchase orders are approved and that parts arrive when needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of all store’s items and recommend changes to the reorder point and the reorder quantity.

• Assist engineering in cost estimates and reporting.
• Using a lift truck, must pick up shipments of inventory at the Shaw Chem loading docks.
• Send out items for repair and complete miscellaneous shipping sheets.
• TPM duties are outlined on the Shawweb.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

(Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

• Dispenses and records company purchased work clothes.
• Maintains an up-to-date library of vendor catalogs and shop manuals.
• Monitors conditions of storeroom tools and sends out for repairs.
• Responsible for obtaining new part numbers.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb stairs approximately 20 times/day.
• Ability to withstand exposure to changes in temperature and humidity.
• Able to climb a ladder approximately 3 times/day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 5 to 10 times per day.
• Must be able to work in small areas using upper and lower body in twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, etc. position daily.
• Required to walk or stand on feet entire 8-10 hour shift except breaks or lunch.
• Manual dexterity to key information into a computer for 10-minute intervals.

• General knowledge of carpet machinery, equipment and tools.
• Must be able to work required overtime.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must maintain a good attendance and safety record
