Warehouse Utility LTO
Essential Functions
- Transport a pallet by forklift to and from location.
- Follow the procedures for locating and removing pallets from rack locations.
- Complete building supplies paperwork as required.
- Verify and turn in pallet inventory paperwork to maintenance supply clerk when needed.
- Wrap loose product and pallets as needed.
- Tape and/or remove any damaged products and packages.
- Complete damage forms as needed.
- Sweep and dispose of trash material from the floor.
- Empty trash cans from the warehouse floor into the hopper.
- Check trash cans at end of aisles throughout the plant as needed throughout the shift.
- Follow the procedures for dumping the hopper.
- Secure and release trailers from the dock doors.
- Empty trash cans from outside employee parking lot and break areas.
- Maintain water stations in break rooms.
- Unload pallets from flatbed trailer to be staged in designated areas (pallet trailer or fence line).
- Replenish wrap lines with empty pallets from designated staging areas.
- Check and empty recycle centers in the break room.
- Empty recyclables into the designated recycling dumpster.
- Check and remove trash from around dock doors on the outside of the building.
- Dispose of broken wood and destroyed pallets into the dumpster.
- Collect wooden toppers throughout the warehouse and stage in rework area.
- Report unsafe conditions to the supervisor (e.g., leaning pallets, damaged wall).
- Report any spills or leaks immediately.
- Safely dispose of sharp objects properly in dumpsters (blades, nails).
- Check dumpster and trash compactor levels; advise supervisor when they need to be emptied.
- Run floor scrubber as needed.
- Clean out scrubber after each use.
- Remove empty pallets throughout the warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
- Walk and stand for the duration of a shift.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Mount/dismount lift truck repeatedly throughout shift.
- Work in a warehouse environment that may vary in temperature.
- Cooperate with team lift as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
- Read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Operate all POTIFS when needed.
- Operate the bailor, trash compactor, and floor scrubber.
- Attach/detach the hopper properly from PIT.
- Operate the pedestal wrapper.
Tools, Equipment, and Material Requirements
- Maintain safety equipment issued (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, vests, scissors, propane changing PPE).
- Maintain housekeeping supplies (brooms, dust pans, shovel).
Safety and Training Requirements
- Follow red cone procedure for dock safety.
- Complete required E‑Learnings.
- Follow trailer securement/release procedures.
- Complete interior and exterior trailer inspections.
- Have trailer securement training (jackstand, Gladhand lock, and power chocks).
- Adhere to hard surface pallet handling procedures.
- Adhere to all rack rules.
- Complete Lift Truck Operator training program.
- Complete all SAFE required training, quality training, and/or other job‑related training.
- Wear required PPE.
- Understand and follow traffic flow for safe operation.
- Annual FTZ training.
Safety and Security Requirements
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Report all accidents and unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
- Always wear Shaw issued work badge visible.
- Comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.
- Comply with all Shaw Savannah policies and procedures.
Work Shift
8‑hour non‑rotating shift; hours fall to the last‑punch day, observed calendar, shift starts PM.
