Job description

The Supply Planning Analyst is responsible for managing supply across the planning horizon and overseeing finished goods planning while maintaining visibility across all aspects of material flow, including production, raw materials, contract manufacturing, outplants, and site logistics. This role proactively manages supply exceptions in real time to ensure optimal product availability and service performance.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, agile, and highly analytical, with strong decision-making and communication skills. This position plays a critical role in the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and is responsible for optimizing purchase order effectiveness through data analysis, performance monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop solutions to complex supply planning challenges using sound judgment, analytical thinking, and established policies and procedures as guidance.
2. Monitor and improve service levels across the supply chain to support internal and external customer expectations.
3. Proactively identify and expedite supply requirements to mitigate current or anticipated service-level gaps.
4. Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to investigate root causes, analyze issues, and implement corrective action plans.
5. Communicate supply risks, escalations, and action plans effectively to leadership and key stakeholders.
6. Monitor purchase order accuracy, timeliness, and overall effectiveness in collaboration with Procurement.
7. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve demand-to-supply planning processes, leveraging S&OP/SIOP metrics and best practices.
8. Document process flows, identify failure points, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
9. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for purchase order processes and support system enhancements in partnership with Information Technology.
10. Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, technology adoption, and data-driven decision-making.
11. Act as the Center of Excellence (COE) for purchase order quality while expanding expertise and ownership in related supply planning functions.
12. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, or a related supply chain function.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, planning processes, operational execution, inventory management, and business fundamentals.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive improvements in a collaborative environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Experience working within ERP/MRP systems and planning tools is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and drive innovation within a corporate environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• APICS CPIM certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience participating in or supporting S&OP/SIOP processes.
• Prior experience leading projects or influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
