Job summary

Kohler Co. in Kohler, WI is seeking a Supply and Demand Planning Manager to lead demand shaping, inventory governance, and discontinuation analysis across Kitchen and Bath Americas.

This role collaborates across Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Control, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, Master Data, IT/Data Analytics, and Operations. The position translates ERP, Power BI, and business data into practical recommendations that reduce excess, obsolete, blocked, and at-risk inventory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field (Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Analytics, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems).
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, demand planning, or related analytics role.
  • Experience with E&O, excess inventory, blocked/restricted inventory, or disposition processes preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP ECC/S4, APO, IBP or similar planning systems) preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI experience; able to work with large datasets, dashboards, and cross-functional reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recurring inventory governance meetings with materials, risks, recommendations, decisions, owners, and overdue actions.
  • Own end-to-end demand shaping from SKU identification through coordination with Marketing and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead E&O and inventory disposition analysis including drivers, demand signals, open orders, forecast, safety stock, aging and depletion timing.
  • Calculate discontinuation exposure and advise on retention, consumption, disposition, scrapping, reclassification, escalation.
  • Identify materials requiring status changes and coordinate PCI requests through submission, approval, and validation.
  • Lead governance by creating, tracking, and following up on actions related to demand shaping, E&O, scrap approvals, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Track blocked/restricted inventory to determine root cause, ownership, aging, financial exposure, and reduction path.
  • Partner with Finance to validate inventory value, E&O exposure, and financial prioritization of reductions.
  • Create standard work, decision rules, escalation paths, and governance routines to improve visibility and reduce manual effort.

Opportunity
The Supply and Demand Planning Manager is responsible for leading demand shaping, Excess & Obsolescence governance, inventory disposition, financial follow-up, blocked/restricted inventory reduction, and discontinuation inventory analysis across Kitchen and Bath Americas. Reporting to the Sr Supply Chain Analytics Manager, this role works independently with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Control, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, Master Data, IT/Data Analytics, Manufacturing Operations, and Supply Chain leadership to identify inventory risks, validate root causes, align decisions, and drive actions to closure. The position translates ERP, Power BI, and business data into practical recommendations that reduce excess, obsolete, blocked, restricted, and at-risk inventory while protecting service, financial, and operational requirements.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Lead recurring inventory governance meetings by preparing materials, presenting risks and recommendations, documenting decisions, assigning owners, and escalating overdue actions.
  • Own the end-to-end demand shaping process, from SKU identification and candidate validation through coordination with Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Customer Service, Finance, and commercial teams to determine the appropriate action for each material.
  • Lead E&O and inventory disposition analysis by reviewing inventory drivers, demand signals, open orders, forecast, safety stock, material status, aging, value, and expected depletion timing.
  • Calculate discontinuation inventory exposure and recommend whether inventory should be retained, consumed, dispositioned, scrapped, reclassified, escalated, or reviewed by additional stakeholders.
  • Identify materials requiring discontinuation, obsolete, blocked, restricted, or other material status changes and coordinate PCI requests through submission, approval, execution, and ERP/reporting validation.
  • Lead ACT governance by creating, supporting, tracking, and following up on actions related to demand shaping, E&O, scrap approval, disposition decisions, blocked/restricted inventory, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Track and review blocked and restricted inventory to determine root cause, owner, aging, financial exposure, and reduction path, including release, reclassification, consumption, disposition, scrap, or escalation.
  • Partner with Finance to validate inventory value, E&O exposure, scrap/disposition impact, and financial prioritization of reduction opportunities.
  • Create standard work, decision rules, escalation paths, and governance routines that improve visibility, reduce manual effort, and prevent recurring inventory issues.
Skills/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Analytics, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: supply chain, inventory management, demand planning, supply planning, production control, finance analytics, operations analytics, or related business analytics role.
  • Experience with E&O, excess inventory, blocked/restricted inventory, inventory disposition, scrap analysis, discontinuation inventory, material status governance, or inventory control processes is preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC/S4, APO, IBP, or similar planning systems is preferred
  • Experience with advanced Excel and Power BI experience required; ability to work with large datasets, dashboards, action trackers, and cross-functional reporting is preferred

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
