Job summary

Chief of Staff KC is partnering with a client in the Kansas City area to hire a Supply & Demand Planner. This person will join a growing team and work directly with leadership in a role that has room to expand over time.

The Supply Planner works on the front end of the logistics process. You’ll turn sales projections into shipment plans, schedule product moves by rail and truck, and see each shipment through until it’s handed off to the back-end logistics team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, or scheduling.
• Proactive approach with a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel.
• Clear, confident communication across teams.
• Comfort working independently while learning the business.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales to understand demand projections and build supply plans.
• Schedule and coordinate shipments by rail and truck across facilities.
• Monitor inventory with operations and adjust plans as production changes.
• Balance priorities across several sites and pivot as needed.
• Assist evaluating and setting up new terminals and transloading facilities.
• Share ideas to improve planning tools and processes.

About the Role

The Supply Planner works on the front end of the logistics process. You’ll turn sales projections into shipment plans, schedule product moves by rail and truck, and see each shipment through until it’s handed off to the back-end logistics team. You’ll work closely with sales, production planning, operations, and logistics, and at times with accounting and contract management.

• Balance priorities across several sites, knowing when to pivot.
• Support the evaluation and setup of new terminals and transloading facilities.
• Share ideas to improve planning tools and processes.
