Job summary

Rembrandt Foods is seeking a Plant Supply Chain Specialist to support production scheduling, transportation, logistics, and procurement. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years in supply chain, logistics, scheduling, or procurement, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage change in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills; ability to define issues, collect data, and propose solutions.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports plant scheduling, logistics, transportation, and procurement activities to support production goals, customer service expectations, and company profitability.
  • Develop, execute, and adjust production schedules based on demand forecasts, plant capacity, inventory targets, labor needs, and operational priorities.
  • Oversee transportation and freight programs, including shipment scheduling, carrier coordination, freight cost management, invoice review, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate and manage carrier, supplier, and service contracts to align with short-term needs and long-term company strategies.
  • Analyze logistics, scheduling, inventory, freight, and procurement data to identify risks, reduce downtime, improve service levels, reduce cost, and increase operational flexibility.
  • Collaborate with operations, sourcing, distribution, sales, shipping/receiving, and customer teams to improve cross-functional efficiency and ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment.
  • Define, monitor, and report key performance indicators for scheduling, logistics, procurement, vendor performance, order fill rate, on-time shipment, delivery accuracy, quality, and cost performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, process changes, technology use, and risk mitigation efforts related to scheduling, logistics, transportation, procurement, and compliance.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop team members; participate in hiring and performance management; and foster positive relationships with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal partners.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, bio-security, environmental, quality, confidentiality, and company policies and procedures.

Job Summary

The Plant Supply Chain Specialist supports production scheduling, transportation, logistics, and procurement activities. This role helps develop and maintain schedules, coordinates carrier and supplier relationships, monitors costs and service performance, and supports continuous improvement across the supply chain.
