Job summary

The E Group in Calera, AL is seeking a logistics professional for an immediate W2 contract. The role supports all company-wide logistics operations, deciding on best transport modes during outages and storms, and ensuring DOT rules & carrier compliance.

Responsibilities include working with carriers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining timely deliveries while supporting outages and restoration efforts. A strong background in transportation and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of logistics to efficiently route materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of carriers, NMFC Classifications, and CFR 49 Hazmat standards.
• Experience with LTL, Truck Load, Parcel, Hotshot, Dedicated & Air transportation.

Responsibilities

Immediate W2 contract position available in Calera, AL.
Estimated Duration: 3 years

** Job Description / Desired Qualifications:**

• This assignment provides logistical support to all Company system wide business units.
• The incumbent is required to make timely and critical business decisions regarding the best mode of transportation of materials and equipment in routine situations, during planned and forced outages & emergency storm restoration efforts.
• The assignment also requires extensive knowledge of carriers, Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) rules & regulations and utility material and equipment.
• The successful candidate will be required to be on call and work in shifts to support outages & storm restoration efforts.

** JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

** Education:**

• High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain is preferred.

** Experience:**

• Prior experience in transportation services field
• Experience in all aspects of transportation including LTL, Truck Load, Parcel, Hotshot, Dedicated & Air.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office computer products.

** Knowledge and Skills:**

• Extensive knowledge of logistics to efficiently and effectively route materials and equipment in routine & emergency situations.
• Knowledge of carriers, NMFC Classifications, DOT regulations, Class 1 – 9 Hazmat transport qualifications as it relates to CFR 49 Standards
• Knowledge of air freight, truck, hotshot, OS/OW regulations as it relates to CFR 49 Standards
• Knowledge of International freight shipment requirements and INCO TERMS
• Knowledge pricing negotiation and contractual agreements with carriers to maximize freight savings.
• Knowledge of Power Delivery and Power Generation materials & equipment.

** KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
