Job description

The Supply Chain Project Manager will support a Robotic Program, working closely with R&D, manufacturing, external suppliers and global supply-chain stakeholders to ensure supply-chain deliverables remain aligned with the overall program timeline.

This individual needs to be comfortable working within a complex and evolving medical-device program where projects and requirements may not always be fully defined. They will receive direction on major program deliverables but will also be expected to independently determine next steps, identify the appropriate stakeholders and drive work to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supply-chain project activities and deliverables supporting a Robotic Program.
  • Coordinate between R&D/design, internal manufacturing, external manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Develop and manage supply-chain-specific project plans and deliverables underneath the broader program timeline.
  • Ensure supply-chain readiness throughout the applicable stage-gate/product development process.
  • Coordinate activities within ERP and PLM systems and ensure required deliverables and changes move through the appropriate workflows.
  • Establish and document physical product flows, financial flows and title/ownership flows, particularly as the program expands internationally.
  • Work across global teams to identify the appropriate stakeholders and resolve supply-chain issues.
  • Communicate regularly with the senior R&D Project Manager to ensure R&D and supply chain remain aligned.
  • Communicate with key suppliers approximately weekly and manage supplier-related actions and deliverables.
  • Participate in project core-team meetings and drive follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Support external manufacturing relationships and deliverables.
  • Support COGS management.
  • Track schedules, dependencies, milestones and risks.
  • Independently investigate issues and drive solutions rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
Candidate Requirements

The strongest candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of project management, project engineering, supply chain or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and deliverables across multiple functions.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction/product development.
  • Ideally, experience taking a product or project from concept through commercialization.
  • Alternatively, strong experience managing sustaining engineering or lifecycle-management projects.
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers and/or external manufacturers.
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Understanding of supply-chain readiness and stage-gate processes.
  • Strong ability to build and manage project timelines and Gantt charts.
  • Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity.
Systems / Technical Experience
Highly desirable:
  • Windchill / PLM experience
  • Change requests/change-control workflows
  • Microsoft Project
  • Gantt chart/project scheduling tools
  • ERP-system exposure
  • Microsoft Office suite
