About the Role
A leading E-commerce / DTC brand in the skincare and cosmetics industry is seeking an experienced Inventory & Operations Manager to join our remote team. This is a high-responsibility freelance role focused on managing inventory, supply chain coordination, and operational efficiency across our product line.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure we’re running a streamlined, data-driven operation. This is a part-time opportunity (20–30 hours/week) with flexible hours and room to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate inventory levels across all SKUs, ensuring timely replenishment and minimal stockouts.
Forecast product demand and plan reorders using tools like Inventory Planner (experience with this is a major plus).
Place and manage purchase orders with suppliers and manufacturers.
Negotiate pricing and delivery timelines to ensure cost-effective procurement.
Organize and document orders, shipments, and supplier contacts in a clear system.
Coordinate product shipments between manufacturers and 3PL warehouses.
Generate regular inventory and operations reports for internal teams.
Assist with broader operational needs, particularly cross-functional tasks that require coordination.
Qualifications
Must-Haves
Significant experience in inventory management and forecasting for e-commerce/DTC companies.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Excellent organizational abilities—detail-oriented, proactive, and process-driven.
Effective communication and follow-up skills.
Tech-savvy, with comfort using tools like Inventory Planner, Excel/Google Sheets, and platforms such as Asana, Trello, etc.
Based in the U.S. (required). Preferably located outside of the West Coast for timezone alignment.
Nice-to-Haves
Industry experience in skincare, haircare, or health and wellness.
Understanding of performance-focused DTC operations and fulfillment strategies.
Hiring Process
Candidates will be asked to complete short test tasks to evaluate relevant skills and alignment.
The role will begin with a 14-day trial period to assess fit and performance before confirming long-term engagement.
