A growing defense and aerospace technology organization is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement and supply chain execution supporting complex hardware production programs.

This position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on ownership of production material, suppliers, subcontractors, procurement compliance, and program delivery. The ideal candidate has significant experience supporting DoD or aerospace hardware programs, understands FAR/DFARS and CPSR requirements, and has successfully led buyers or subcontract professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead supply chain and procurement activities for complex defense hardware, fabricated assemblies, machined components, and long‑lead materials.
• Translate program schedules and MRP demand into executable procurement and material plans.
• Drive supplier performance against cost, quality, and delivery requirements, including expediting and recovery plans for critical‑path material.
• Manage major subcontractors through production readiness, delivery commitments, performance reviews, and corrective‑action closure.
• Support engineering changes by assessing supplier, material, cost, and schedule impacts.
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Program Management to resolve supplier and material issues.
• Lead sourcing, RFQ/RFP activity, supplier negotiations, price analysis, and subcontract documentation.
• Maintain procurement files and processes in accordance with FAR, DFARS, CPSR, contractual requirements, and company procedures.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and establish mitigation and continuity plans.
• Develop supplier KPIs and dashboards covering on‑time delivery, quality, cost, and overall performance.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on supplier delivery, cost reduction, material availability, and procurement efficiency.
• Coach and develop buyers and/or subcontract administrators.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
• 9+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or subcontract management experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of buyers, subcontract administrators, or supply‑chain personnel.
• Experience supporting defense, aerospace, government, or complex hardware manufacturing programs.
• Hands‑on ownership of direct production material for build‑to‑print hardware, machining, fabricated assemblies, and long‑lead components.
• Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS and government procurement requirements.
• Experience participating in or supporting a Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR).
• Ability to prepare and document price analysis.
• Demonstrated success improving supplier on‑time delivery in schedule‑driven production environments.
• Experience managing major subcontractors through production and corrective‑action activities.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems in project‑based manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance and work within ITAR/EAR requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supporting DoD programs transitioning from development or LRIP into production.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint or another project‑based ERP platform.
• CPSM, CSCP, or similar supply‑chain certification.
• Advanced degree.
• Experience supporting naval, aerospace, electronics, or mission‑critical hardware programs.
• Familiarity with international suppliers and global supply‑chain operations.
