Job summary

Confidential, an established defense manufacturer in the United States, seeks a Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chain operations and strategic sourcing across multiple programs.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, government contracting know-how, and collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to optimize production readiness and supplier performance. A strong leadership track record and Costpoint experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or materials management within defense or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Proven success leading supply chain strategy, organizational transformation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience negotiating complex supplier agreements and managing strategic vendor relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, with Costpoint experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience utilizing TIQA and SiliconExpert.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and manage organizational change.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligning with objectives, customers, and growth plans.
  • Lead procurement, sourcing, inventory control, material planning, and supplier management to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships; negotiate contracts and long-term supply arrangements.
  • Drive cost reduction via strategic sourcing, supplier development, and process improvements.
  • Oversee inventory planning and material availability to support production schedules and working capital.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks with contingency plans for long lead times and sole-source suppliers.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and initiatives to improve quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and ISO 9001:2015; AS9100 experience preferred.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Finance, and Quality on forecasting and program execution.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide executive leadership with regular reporting on supplier performance, inventory health, cost savings, and risks.

Job description

An established and expanding defense manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead its end-to-end supply chain organization.

This leadership role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, overseeing procurement and materials management, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring operational readiness across multiple programs.

The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, proven leadership experience, and a strong understanding of government contracting requirements to support continued business growth.

Due to the nature of the DoW government contracts, US Citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that align with organizational objectives, customer requirements, and long-term growth plans.
  • Lead procurement, sourcing, inventory control, material planning, and supplier management functions to ensure uninterrupted production and operational excellence.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships while negotiating contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term supply arrangements.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier development, process improvements, and value engineering.
  • Oversee inventory planning and material availability to support production schedules while optimizing working capital.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans for long lead-time materials, sole-source suppliers, end-of-life components, and other critical supply challenges.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and lead initiatives that improve quality, delivery, responsiveness, and overall supplier effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS requirements, applicable government contracting regulations, and quality standards including ISO 9001:2015 (AS9100 experience is preferred).
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Finance, and Quality to support forecasting, demand planning, and successful program execution.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide executive leadership with regular reporting on supplier performance, inventory health, cost savings initiatives, and supply chain risks.
