A client of mine is looking for a Manager, Supply Chain Engineering to lead a team responsible for supporting and enhancing critical warehouse and supply chain technology platforms. This individual will play a key role in driving system integrations, enabling inventory visibility initiatives, supporting warehouse operations, and helping modernize the technology ecosystem that powers a growing distribution network.
This is a highly visible leadership position with the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering strategy, operational excellence, and emerging technology initiatives, including RFID implementation and inventory tracking capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical professionals supporting supply chain systems and warehouse technologies
- Drive execution of engineering initiatives, operational support activities, capacity planning, and project delivery
- Partner with business leaders, operations teams, architects, and external vendors to align technology solutions with business objectives
- Participate in solution architecture, technical design reviews, implementation planning, and system modernization efforts
- Support and enhance warehouse management and fulfillment platforms
- Lead integration initiatives connecting legacy applications and modern cloud-based technologies
- Help drive RFID implementation efforts to improve inventory visibility and operational efficiency
- Oversee API development, enterprise integrations, and data flows across supply chain systems
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to system reliability, service delivery, operational performance, and team effectiveness
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, automation, stability, and cost optimization
- Support incident management, problem resolution, and operational excellence programs
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure successful delivery of technology services and solutions
- Promote modern engineering practices, SDLC processes, DevOps principles, and responsible AI adoption
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, technology, supply chain systems, or related technical environments
- 3+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management
- Experience supporting warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, or supply chain technology platforms
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Experience with RFID technologies, inventory visibility solutions, or asset-tracking initiatives is highly preferred
- Proven experience designing and supporting system integrations
- Experience with API development and enterprise integration patterns
- Ability to bridge business requirements and technical solutions
- Experience participating in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and modernization initiatives
- Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies, DevOps practices, and production support environments
- Experience working with cloud and SaaS-based platforms
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
