Job description

Our client, a growing international organization in the industrial products and distribution sector, is seeking a fully bilingual (English/Spanish) Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist to support its expanding operations throughout Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company experiencing significant growth and play an important role in developing and optimizing its international supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in international logistics, import/export compliance, demand planning, and customer service, along with the ability to coordinate multiple suppliers, freight providers, and distribution partners across international markets. We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The successful candidate will enjoy taking ownership of processes, solving complex logistics challenges, and leveraging technology, automation, and modern reporting tools to improve operational efficiency. This is more than a traditional logistics position. It's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, improve processes, and grow alongside an expanding international organization.

What You'll Be Doing
International Logistics & Supply Chain Management
  • Manage the end-to-end logistics process, from demand forecasting and order placement through international shipping, delivery, and invoicing.
  • Coordinate shipments across Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, working with multiple suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
  • Plan and optimize transportation routes, including ocean freight (FCL/LCL), trucking, and consolidated shipments.
  • Monitor shipment schedules, inventory availability, and delivery performance to ensure products arrive on time and at optimal cost.
  • Proactively resolve shipping delays, customs holds, documentation discrepancies, and other logistics challenges.
Import/Export & Trade Compliance
  • Oversee international import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, Bills of Lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, international trade requirements, and destination‑specific customs procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of Incoterms 2020, tariff classifications, and applicable trade agreements to support efficient international shipping.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and freight providers to facilitate smooth customs clearance and minimize delays or unnecessary costs.
  • Stay informed of evolving trade regulations and identify potential impacts on business operations.
Order Management & Customer Service
  • Serve as a key bilingual point of contact for internal sales teams, international distributors, suppliers, and logistics partners.
  • Manage customer orders from quotation and order entry through fulfillment, delivery, and invoicing.
  • Review purchase orders, pricing, shipping terms, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide timely shipment updates, resolve customer inquiries, and address order discrepancies or delivery issues.
  • Partner with Finance to support accurate invoicing, documentation, and resolution of customer account issues.
Demand Planning & Inventory Management
  • Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by collaborating with commercial teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Coordinate production schedules and inventory availability with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify potential supply shortages, and recommend solutions.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy, order trends, and supply chain performance to improve planning and operational efficiency.
Reporting, Analytics & Process Improvement
  • Track and report key supply chain metrics, including on‑time delivery, order fulfillment, freight costs, inventory accuracy, and forecast performance.
  • Analyze logistics expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve transportation efficiency.
  • Evaluate freight providers and logistics partners, assisting with vendor selection, rate negotiations, and performance improvement.
  • Utilize ERP systems, Excel, Power BI, AI‑powered analytics, and other technologies to streamline processes and improve reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership on continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and international expansion projects.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in international logistics, import/export operations, supply chain planning, or order management.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) – required.
  • Hands‑on experience coordinating international shipments, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third‑party logistics providers.
  • Knowledge of international shipping documentation, customs requirements, Incoterms, and import/export regulations.
  • Experience supporting logistics operations involving Mexico, Central America, and/or the Caribbean.
  • Understanding of demand forecasting, inventory management, and order‑to‑cash processes.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP or supply chain management systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross‑functional and international teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial products, lubricants, petroleum, chemicals, manufacturing, or international distribution.
  • Familiarity with U.S. export requirements, including AES/EEI filings and HS classifications.
  • Knowledge of Mexico's CFDI and Carta Porte documentation requirements.
  • Understanding of regional trade agreements, including CAFTA-DR and CARICOM.
  • Experience with SAP (SD/MM), Power BI, and advanced reporting or analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with ocean freight, container optimization, consolidated shipments, and international landed‑cost analysis.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS/ASCM (CSCP or CLTD), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or similar credentials.
  • Interest in leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve supply chain processes.
What Will Make You Successful

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong technical logistics knowledge with a customer‑focused, solutions‑oriented mindset. You enjoy working with international teams, can confidently communicate in both Spanish and English, and take pride in keeping complex supply chain operations running smoothly. You are comfortable navigating changing priorities, identifying inefficiencies, and introducing smarter ways of working. Most importantly, you are excited about joining a growing organization where your ideas, initiative, and contributions can make a real difference.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Growth & Career Development: Join an expanding international organization with opportunities to take on additional responsibilities as the business grows.
  • International Exposure: Work closely with teams, suppliers, and distribution partners across multiple countries.
  • Meaningful Impact: Help develop and improve supply chain processes rather than simply maintaining existing systems.
  • Innovation‑Focused Environment: Work with modern technology, analytics, and automation to drive operational improvements.
  • Collaborative Culture: Partner with commercial, finance, and operations teams in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
