What Is the Leadership Development Program?

The Clemens Food Group Supply Chain Leadership Development Program is a one-year rotational experience designed to prepare emerging early career professionals for long-term careers and future leadership opportunities within our organization.

Through hands‑on assignments, cross-functional projects, mentorship, and cohort-based development sessions, you will strengthen your leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities while gaining a broad understanding of our business and end‑to‑end supply chain.

About Supply Chain at Clemens Food Group

Our Supply Chain team connects our farms, production facilities, customers, and consumers. From planning and purchasing to production scheduling, warehousing, customer service, and transportation, the team ensures that fresh, safe, high-quality pork products reach the right place at the right time.

As a Supply Chain LDP participant, you will gain hands‑on experience across these functions while learning how to forecast demand, balance supply and inventory, improve service, reduce waste, and solve complex business challenges. The program will help you build the operational knowledge, technical skills, and leadership foundation needed for a successful career in supply chain management.

What Makes This Program Different

  • Customizable Rotations: Gain exposure to core supply chain functions through rotations that may be tailored to your strengths, interests, and development opportunities.
  • Meaningful Business Experience: Contribute to projects and daily decisions that influence product availability, customer service, cost, inventory, and operational performance.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with Operations, Engineering, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Sales, Finance, and other teams across the organization.
  • Learning Beyond the Desk: Participate in cohort development sessions, farm and feed mill tours, plant visits, mentorship, and team engagement activities that deepen your understanding of our business and culture.

Your Supply Chain Rotations

During the two‑year program, you will rotate through multiple areas that provide a comprehensive view of our supply chain:

  • Sales and Operations Planning: Participate in planning meetings, analyze supply and demand, support business reviews, and learn how cross‑functional teams make decisions that balance customer needs with operational capacity.
  • Customer Experience and Service: Learn SAP processes, understand the complete order‑to‑delivery cycle, and help provide responsive service to customers.
  • Production Scheduling: Partner with schedulers to develop production plans, align resources, and respond to changing customer and operational needs.
  • Purchasing: Support the procurement of raw materials and supplies, communicate with vendors, and help maintain consistent product availability.
  • Warehouse Operations: Gain experience with inventory management, wave planning, reporting, and process improvement. Forklift certification may be available as part of the rotation.
  • Transportation: Learn about routing, fleet and driver operations, delivery performance, and logistics projects that improve service, cost, and reliability.

  • SAP and advanced Excel capabilities
  • Inventory, scheduling, and logistics analysis
  • Data‑driven problem‑solving and process improvement

  • Customer and vendor relationship management
