Qualifications

A Brief Overview

Responsible for managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring optimal stock levels across supply locations. Supports process improvements, collaborates with purchasing and clinical teams, and delivers excellent customer service. Upholds safety, compliance, and organizational standards while assisting with audits, training, and troubleshooting supply chain systems.

Responsibilities
What you will do
  • Assess and identify excess inventory; initiate returns and manage credits. Notify supervisors promptly about outdated or slow-moving items.
  • Rotate and remove expired inventory; maintain optimal stock levels across all supply locations.
  • Conduct inventory audits and allocate supplies using hand-held devices.
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of bin locations and labels.
  • Document and report inventory discrepancies and fluctuations for management review.
  • Communicate operational issues affecting departmental efficiency to the Supply Chain Operations Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to resolve order discrepancies quickly.
  • Implement and support process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and accurate replenishment of warehouse and supply areas, including evaluating and adjusting par levels and labeling systems.
  • Follow established procedures for receiving, delivering, and reconciling shipments and paperwork.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in response to telephone and in-person inquiries, upholding Orlando Health's standards of excellence.
  • Develop and sustain positive working relationships with clinical leadership, care teams, and other departments.
  • Participate in put away and validation of perpetual inventory items; facilitate issuance and crediting of materials via the point-of-use inventory management system.
  • Assist with assembly and upkeep of code cart trays and emergency carts.
  • Provide support during annual or bi-annual inventory counts and additional inventories as needed.
  • Execute other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrate effective collaboration with supervisors, peers, and customer groups.
  • Communicate clearly and actively listen to stakeholders; interpret instructions accurately, share knowledge, and serve as a liaison for nursing departments.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment, including proper waste removal and disposal.
  • Participating in department and hospital sponsored educational initiatives to support ongoing skill enhancement and competency development.
  • Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Processes and logs all system file updates related to supply location inventory updates and replenishments.
  • Perform cycle counts on a regular basis.
  • Presents a consistent professional image in dress and communications.
  • Operates supply chain equipment as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred.
  • Two (2) years of related warehouse, inventory or customer service experience required.
  • An Associate's degree may be substituted for two (2) years of required experience.
  • Valid driver's license
