Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Decatur, AL seeks a Supply Chain Intern to gain hands-on experience across procurement, contracting, and supplier coordination within the aerospace sector.

You will assist with developing procurement specs, RFQs, and subcontracts, work closely with engineering, quality, and finance teams, and observe bid analysis, negotiations, and subcontract administration during a 10-week summer program.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.
• Must have valid driver's license if assigned an internship in Alabama.
• Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Acquisition, or related field.
• Plans to be enrolled in Fall Semester 2027.
• Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; SAP/Power BI knowledge preferred.

Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a Supply Chain Intern at United Launch Alliance, you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to:

• Assist Senior Level Business professionals with the development of procurement specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment and services.
• Prepare Request for Quotes and Request for Proposal packages.
• Assist with conducting bidders conferences, analyzing and evaluating supplier proposals, negotiation of subcontract provision, select subcontract source, create subcontract documents and subcontracts.
• Intricate participation with subcontract compliance to ensure strict adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations; as well as, internal ULA command media.
• Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletion, or modifications to subcontracts as coordinated with other ULA functional areas and suppliers.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, and finance as required to mitigate supplier performance risk and resolve supplier issues in a timely manner.
• Assist Senior Level Business professionals with timely resolution of issues that arise with Quality, Receive, Accounts Payable, Manufacturing, supplier or any other functional area as required.
• Support one or more experienced business professionals in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of the business side of the aerospace industry.

Required Education

• At minimum completed Sophomoreyear of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
• High School/GED

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a minimum college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding. NOTE: An unofficial transcript is required if you are invited for an interview. We recommend you upload it to your profile when you apply.
• Must have a valid driver's license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama; California; Florida; or Pueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.

Role Specific Qualifications

• At minimum, actively pursuing a bachelor's degree with a focus in Business, Supply Chain, Acquisition, contract Management, or relevant field from an accredited college or university.
• Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
• Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
• SAP knowledge is preferred. Power BI knowledge is preferred.
• Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to complete an internship at any of the below ULA's locations:
  • Decatur, AL
  • Denver, CO

Summary Salary Range:

CO: $23.10 - $37.95
