Job summary

RUA seeks a Summer 2027 Intern for its Des Moines, IA corporate headquarters. The internship is designed to develop college students across supply chain, transportation, accounting, HR, IT, or related divisions.

Interns may work on a variety of projects, apply classroom knowledge in real workplace scenarios, and gain exposure to the transportation business. The position is temporary, nonexempt, and hourly in nature.

Qualifications

• Education: Some College Courses Preferred (Supply Chain, Logistics, Human Resources, IT)
• Experience: none
• Must be able to commit to RUA's value statement by acting with integrity in everything we do.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Duties may include assisting in the preparation of reports and presentation material 25%
• Provide day-to-day business activities focused on meeting internal and external customer needs 25%
• Fully support financial business case analysis 25%
• Participate in major cost and process improvement initiatives and projects, and provide technical support in managing the business unit's financial performance. 20%
• Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required. 5%

Job Description

This is a full-time internship opportunity for Summer 2027 working at our corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA.

The purpose of the internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a career in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or applicable division. Interns may be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the transportation business. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, part-time/hourly.
