Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking highly motivated students to join its Supply Chain internship program. Interns will support procurement, sourcing, contract administration, records management, inventory, logistics, and analytics across multiple teams.

Assignments vary by business need and student interests, with exposure to SAP-based purchasing, data analysis, and supplier management. This is a May 24, 2027 start with hybrid in-person work and potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in a related field (Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; curious and proactive.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Interest in procurement, sourcing, operations, and logistics within energy/utilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with purchasing, sourcing, contract, supplier and other Supply Chain activities to support daily operations.
• Gather, organize, and review supply chain data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Create reports, presentations, dashboards and status updates for team members and leaders.
• Support inventory, materials, logistics, warehouse, fleet, or planning activities to improve safety, service, cost and reliability.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and system information to support data quality and audit readiness.
• Contribute to projects, process improvements, technology updates, and change initiatives.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain team members, business partners, and suppliers to support project tasks.
