Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Supply Chain Associate in Laplace, LA to manage branch inventory, handle procurement and quoting, and support B2B customer needs. The role includes coordinating resources, assisting accounts receivable, and occasional deliveries with a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license with ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in business, supply chain, operations, management, marketing, sales or related field OR relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.

OVERVIEW:

Embark on a dynamic journey as a Part-time Supply Chain Associate, where every day offers a new opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of supply chain excellence. In addition to managing inventory, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting business-to-business operations by administering procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions that seamlessly meet the needs of our customers and drive the success of their business. This position is for our branch located at 207 Woodland Dr, Laplace, LA 70068. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing branch inventory levels
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
• Supporting accounts receivable activities
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
• Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
• Possess or are working towards a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field of study OR have customer service or industry related work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
