Job summary

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Supply Assurance Buyer to ensure materials and components are available for production while balancing inventory and demand.

This on-site role is based in Irvine, CA and requires commuting distance to the office. You will manage MRP supply, forecast, supplier communications, direct and indirect purchasing, expedite deliveries, and resolve invoice discrepancies, contributing to uninterrupted production and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing and planning experience.
• Experience in Manufacturing environment.
• Possess good computer skills including MS Office and strong in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledgeable of SAP ERP will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely execution of MRP supply, forecast, and exception reports to suppliers, aligning supplier delivery commitments with production requirements.
• Oversee purchasing of both direct and indirect commodities, including chemicals, biologicals, and packaging components.
• Expedite deliveries and address material shortages to support uninterrupted production.
• Manage and resolve supplier returns, goods receipts, and invoice discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain data accuracy and integrity while adhering to established procedures and standards.
• Optimize inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing inventory holding costs.
• Serve as a liaison between Purchasing and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on supply needs and priorities.
