Job summary

Harvard Group International seeks a Supplier Quality Manager to establish and lead the quality function for a growing aeroderivative gas turbine business. You will build the QMS, define procedures, qualify suppliers, and drive corrective actions while collaborating with Engineering, Operations and Procurement.

The role requires extensive experience with ISO 9001/AS9100, supplier audits, and shop-floor leadership to ensure production readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive quality and manufacturing experience in supplier quality.
• ISO 9001 and AS9100 expertise in quality systems and audits.
• Experience building or significantly improving a QMS with procedures and controls.
• Hands-on supplier qualification, part inspection, and corrective-action experience.
• Lean Six Sigma experience; ideally with Tier 1 suppliers or precision machining.
• Aerospace, gas turbine or power-generation background preferred; automotive backgrounds considered.

Job description

The Supplier Quality Manager will establish and lead the quality function supporting a rapidly expanding aeroderivative gas turbine business. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, this hands-on leader will build the Quality Management System, define procedures and approval processes, and qualify suppliers and manufactured components against engineering requirements. Working closely with Engineering, Operations and Procurement, this individual will drive supplier qualification, product conformity and corrective action while establishing the quality infrastructure needed to support production readiness, audit compliance and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and implement the QMS, quality procedures, inspection requirements and approval workflows aligned with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Qualify suppliers and verify that manufactured parts conform to drawings, specifications and acceptance criteria through audits and on-site assessments.
• Lead nonconformance containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions and verification of sustained effectiveness.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations and Procurement to support product development, validation and production readiness while protecting quality under delivery pressure.
• Provide quality input to supplier scorecards; use performance data to improve first-pass yield, reduce escapes and rework, and strengthen supplier capability.
• Identify specialist resource needs and develop the quality team as headcount is approved and the business grows.

REQUIREMENTS

• Approximately 15+ years of progressive quality and manufacturing experience across supplier quality, continuous improvement and quality systems leadership.
• Practical expertise applying ISO 9001 and AS9100 to quality systems, supplier assessments and audit preparation.
• Experience personally building, launching or substantially improving a QMS and implementing workable procedures and controls.
• Hands-on supplier qualification, part inspection, corrective action and manufacturing process assessment experience.
• Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma experience, ideally including Tier 1 suppliers or precision machining.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent qualification, such as ASQ CQE or CQM/OE, with measurable improvement results.
• Aerospace, gas turbine or power-generation experience preferred; relevant automotive and highly engineered manufacturing backgrounds considered.
• Visible shop-floor leadership, constructive influence and the judgment to challenge nonconforming product decisions.
• Ability to establish quality capability and recruit, develop and lead specialist professionals as the organization scales.

COMPENSATION

A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary plus performance-based bonus.
