Turbine Kinetics, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure purchased products and services meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will work with suppliers, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and Quality to resolve supplier-related issues, improve performance, and maintain compliance with aerospace quality standards. Travel is expected to 20%–50% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or aerospace engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems and supplier audits preferred.
  • ASQ certification (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, qualify, and monitor suppliers based on quality, delivery, and technical capability.
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Review supplier quality documentation and traceability records.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions (SCARs).
  • Support First Article Inspection activities per AS9102 requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings and purchase order quality requirements.
  • Travel to supplier locations for audits and improvements.

Job description

Turbine Kinetics, Inc., an aerospace company specializing in aircraft and engine components, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure that purchased products and services consistently meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

This position will work closely with suppliers, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and Quality to resolve supplier-related issues, improve supplier performance, and maintain compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, qualify, and monitor suppliers based on quality, delivery, technical capability, and overall performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements, and company procedures.
  • Review supplier quality documentation, certifications, inspection reports, and material traceability records.
  • Manage supplier nonconformances and issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
  • Lead root-cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, 8D, and corrective and preventive action methods.
  • Review and approve supplier corrective action responses and verify the effectiveness of implemented actions.
  • Support First Article Inspection activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and purchase order quality requirements.
  • Work with suppliers to develop inspection methods, process controls, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and corrective action closure.
  • Identify high-risk suppliers and develop risk-reduction and supplier improvement plans.
  • Assist Purchasing with supplier selection, onboarding, and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits related to supplier quality.
  • Coordinate the disposition of nonconforming supplier material with Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
  • Participate in Material Review Board activities when required.
  • Support counterfeit-part prevention, product safety, and foreign-object-damage prevention requirements.
  • Maintain accurate supplier quality records within the company’s quality management system.
  • Travel to supplier locations as needed to conduct audits, inspections, investigations, and improvement activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or aerospace engineering experience preferred.
  • Aerospace manufacturing or aerospace aftermarket experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management system strongly preferred.
  • Experience with supplier audits, corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and First Article Inspections preferred.
  • ASQ certification, such as Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor, is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards and supplier quality practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, and applicable FAA requirements.
  • Understanding of special processes and industry accreditation requirements, including Nadcap, is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate quality expectations clearly and professionally to suppliers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple supplier issues and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP and electronic quality management systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%–50%, depending on business needs.
  • Team Members in this position must be a U.S. Person, as defined by U.S. export control laws.
