Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to maintain high quality standards with suppliers and outside processors. The role reports directly to the Corporate Director of Quality Management and emphasizes robust supplier qualification and PPAP participation.

You will develop and monitor supplier KPIs, lead audits, coordinate corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain, with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, including press work, forming, stamping, welding.
• 3+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment; at least 2 years in quality control and supplier quality.
• Reading blueprints; familiarity with GD&T; ability to create bubble drawings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier qualification activities to verify capability of meeting product requirements.
• Establish quality control standards and procedures for suppliers to ensure a consistent supply chain.
• Create and maintain supplier KPIs.
• Maintain a supplier audit program, including risk-based scheduling and follow-up activities.
• Initiate and coordinate corrective actions between suppliers, the company and customers.
• Implement improvement programs for suppliers based on customer requirements.
• Respond to supply chain interruptions and correct issues to meet customer demands.
• Oversee product acceptance program including participating in PPAP process.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Supplier Quality Manager is accountable for maintaining high quality standards with suppliers and outside processors. This position reports directly to the Corporate Director of Quality Management.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier qualification activities to verify that suppliers are capable of meeting and maintaining product requirements.
• Establish quality control standards and procedures to be followed by suppliers as needed to ensure a consistent supply chain.
• Create and maintain supplier KPIs
• Maintain a supplier audit program, including risk-based scheduling, and follow-up activities
• Initiate and coordinate corrective actions between suppliers, the company and customers
• Implement improvement programs for suppliers based on demonstrated needs and customer requirements.
• Ability to respond to supply chain interruptions and effectively make corrections to ensure customer demands are met
• Oversee product acceptance program including participating in PPAP process
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, including press work, forming, soft and hard tool stamping, welding, etc.
• 3+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment; at least 2 years of this experience should be in the areas of quality control and supplier quality.
• Working knowledge of inspection tools and protocols
• Working knowledge of Quality Management core tools
• Ability to read blueprints, familiarity with GD&T, ability to create bubble drawings.
• Experience with CMM software preferred
• 2-year college degree or equivalent
• Quality Management System auditing experience
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
