Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Richardson, TX invites you to join its Supplier Quality Engineering Internship program. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting daily quality tasks, supplier audits, and defect analysis while collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

The role offers mentorship, real project work, and exposure to upper management, with pay ranges of $29 to $49 per hour depending on education level and duties. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in an Engineering field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Good understanding of SPC methods.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general computer skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter, team player, and able to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support SQE team with daily quality management tasks.
• Assist in developing supplier quality systems to reduce incoming inspections.
• Participate in supplier audits and manage COA data.
• Verify material defects using microscopes and measurement tools.
• Review, organize, and archive supplier documentation and quality deliverables.
• Maintain and update system tools to keep supplier data and reports current.
• Capture and analyze defect data to define acceptance and rejection criteria.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Support management of supplier quality metrics, specifications, and procedures.

Supplier Quality Engineering Internships are offered in our Quality organization. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Responsibilities may include:

• Support Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team with daily quality management tasks for purchased materials and suppliers.
• Assist in developing and improving supplier quality management systems and plans to reduce incoming inspections without impacting product quality.
• Participate in supplier audits and help manage supplier control charts and Certificate of Analysis (COA) data to identify trends or non-compliance.
• Verify material defects using microscopes and measurement tools to ensure parts meet drawing specifications.
• Review, organize, and archive supplier documentation and quality deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain and update system tools to keep supplier data, and reports current and well-organized.
• Capture and analyze defect data to define acceptance and rejection criteria for incoming inspections.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support product development and production.
• Support management of Supplier Quality metrics, specifications, and procedures.

Required Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a BS or MS degree in an Engineering field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Good understanding of statistical process control (SPC) methods.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general computer skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter, team player, and able to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
• Attention to detail.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
