Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer - Plant Support at our Concord, NC manufacturing site. You will act as a technical liaison between suppliers and GM Defense teams to resolve quality issues and oversee APQP for new programs.

Responsibilities include PPAP verifications, PFMEA reviews, containment coordination, root-cause analysis, and supplier development across the lifecycle of a commodity. A bachelor's degree and 3–5 years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in quality, engineering and/or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GD&T, PPAP, APQP and quality systems.
• Ability to travel up to 25% including local and domestic and possible international travel.
• U.S. Person status as defined for this defense role.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for technical communications.

Responsibilities

• Perform PPAP and Run-at-rate verifications, audits, and periodic compliance monitoring.
• Review quality plans (Control Plans, PFMEA) for new components and assemblies.
• Coordinate and report on-site containment for supplier-responsible quality issues.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Perform on-site supplier visits to root cause and verify corrective actions.
• Improve supplier quality performance with on-site workshops and technical support.
