Job summary

GM Defense is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer - Plant Support to ensure supplier quality at our Concord, NC site. The role acts as a technical liaison with suppliers and internal teams to resolve manufacturing and quality issues, lead APQP activities for new programs, and drive supplier development across the lifecycle of a commodity.

You will conduct PPAP/Run-at-rate verifications, review quality plans, and coordinate containment for supplier issues.

Qualifications

Three to five years of experience in quality, engineering and/or manufacturing.
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, procedures, tooling, equipment, and facilities.
Investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment to develop solutions.
GD&T knowledge and print interpretation.
Statistical quality control and DOE knowledge.
Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and possible international).
U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
Ability to work four 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

Perform PPAP and Run-at-rate verifications, audits, and compliance monitoring.
Review and approve quality plans (Control Plans, PFMEA) for new components/assemblies.
Coordinate on-site containment for supplier-responsible quality issues.
Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Perform on-site supplier visits to verify corrections.
Improve supplier quality through on-site workshops and technical assistance.
