Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support sustaining engineering in the supply chain for current products and for new product introductions. You will collaborate with the RQA warehouse, drive 8D investigations, and manage supplier quality performance to ensure on-time mass production.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 2+ years in high-volume electronics quality, and travel ability; ISO knowledge and PPAP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of quality improvements in high-volume electronics manufacturing.
• ISO knowledge or auditor training preferred.
• Experience with test and measurement tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically and overseas.
• Strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and disposition returned units; identify supplier-attributable failures.
• Review defect data by SKU and supplier to spot trends and drive actions.
• Define criteria, sampling plans, and failure coding for RQA data.
• Coordinate with RQA, engineering, and suppliers for 8D investigations.
• Lead supplier audits and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Support NPI with part qualification and PPAP; ensure quality gates.
