Job summary

Vivint, a leading smart home company, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to support sustaining engineering in supply chain for in-production products and early field failure analysis for new products. You will partner with the RQA warehouse, support NPI, and drive 8D actions with suppliers.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 2+ years' quality improvement experience, and travel flexibility. You will collaborate across engineering, sourcing and suppliers to ensure product quality and timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated successes improving quality in high-volume electronic manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO) and ISO Auditor training/certification is preferred.
• Experience with test and measurement tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically and overseas.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to facilitate informed decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and disposition returned units and confirm supplier attribution of failures.
• Review defect data by SKU and supplier to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
• Define sampling criteria and failure-coding standards for RQA data.
• Coordinate flow of defective units and evidence for 8D investigations and warranty recovery.
• Monitor warehouse throughput and resolve bottlenecks affecting defect turnaround.
• Represent supplier quality in NPI programs and ensure PPAP approval before launch.
• Lead supplier audits and drive corrective actions with multi-tier supply chain visibility.
• Lead supplier business reviews and communicate defect trends to align improvements.
