Supplier Quality Engineer — NPI & RQA Leader

Job summary

NRG Energy seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to support sustaining engineering in the supply chain for production products. You will partner with the RQA warehouse to inspect and disposition units, support NPI programs, and manage supplier quality performance with a focus on 8D investigations and corrective actions.

Responsibilities include leading supplier audits, driving improvements, and coordinating with engineering and sourcing on part qualification and PPAP readiness for new launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of quality improvements in high-volume electronics manufacturing.
• ISO knowledge and auditor training preferred.
• Experience with test and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and disposition returned (RMA’d) field units at the RQA warehouse.
• Open supplier corrective actions and track defect rate trends by SKU and supplier.
• Define inspection criteria and failure-coding standards for consistent data.
• Lead 8D root cause investigations and ensure closure of corrective actions.
