Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or 5+ years of equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) is a plus.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma, 6S, 8D, FMEA, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience with quality management software (eQMS, ERP) and statistical tools.

Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier quality improvements and manage supplier performance.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

For the Supplier Quality Engineer II position, your impact on the team revolves around driving quality improvements and fostering positive relationships with both customers and suppliers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards across the supply chain by managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust quality control processes, conducting supplier audits, andleading root cause analysis to resolve quality issues.

Leveraging your technical expertise, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards, reduce defects, and enhance product reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of supplier qualification processes, corrective and preventive actions, and the ability to manage multiple projects to meet strategic goals. You will directly contribute to the company's operational excellence, ensuring that supplier relationships are optimized for quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery In this role, success is measured by your ability to lead change, uphold high standards of quality, and foster collaborative environments across diverse stakeholders.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Support supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations (ISO9001, AS9100, etc.).
  • Assist managing senior SQE with the supplier qualification process, including initial assessments, audits, ongoing evaluations, improving product quality, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Quality Performance Management.

  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, focusing on defect rates, on-time delivery, and adherence to specifications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop corrective action plans (8D, FMEA) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Resolution
  • Assist or lead root cause analysis for supplier-related non-conformances, implementing corrective actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, procurement) to resolve quality concerns and ensure product quality standards.
  • Assist MRB (Material Review Board) processes, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Return Material Authorizations (RMA), and Purge processes to ensure timely resolution of supplier issues.
Process Improvement
  • Assist in developing and improving supplier processes, including quality control plans and inspection procedures (IQC, IPQC, FQC).
  • Support the implementation of SPC and other quality tools to enhance supplier quality and reduce variability.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Ensure proper documentation of supplier quality issues and maintain records for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Participate in the maintenance of Approved Supplier Lists (ASL) and ensure supplier documentation is up to date.
  • Proficiency in analyzing supplier performance data and generating detailed reports for internal reviews and decision-making.
  • Training new employees, suppliers, and vendors on quality assurance procedures and protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, OR 5+ years of equivalent practical experience

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and supplier negotiations.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) is plus.
  • Exposure to quality tools such as Six Sigma,6S,8D, FMEA, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Intermediate level experience with quality management software (eQMS, ERP systems) and familiarity with tools like Minitab or other statistical analysis software is plus.
