Job summary

The Marvin Group, based in Southern California near LAX, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to evaluate suppliers for MEC, MLS and customer requirements. You will drive defect containment, corrective action, and supplier performance using data-driven metrics.

Ideal candidates have 3–8 years in aerospace/defense, GD&T proficiency, and AS9100 knowledge. Onsite role with travel up to 30% and strong MS Excel skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
• 3–8 years of experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of industry specs/standards (AS9100, ANSI, ASME).
• Knowledge of government/regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in MS Office; Excel data manipulation.
• Detail oriented, organized, and team player.
• CSQP or CQE certification is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to Supply Chain and internal functions on quality requirements.
• Train suppliers and MEC personnel on specifications and requirements.
• Maintain and analyze supplier score cards and raw data.
• Generate weekly metrics on supplier performance.
• Issue SCARs or Supplier Notifications.
• Maintain SCAR process with root-cause identification.
• Manage Approved Supplier List per MEC policies.
• Improve supplier quality via get-well plans and milestones.
• Attend daily Receiving Inspection huddles or shop floor meetings.
• Prepare trip reports documenting site visits and audits.
• Conduct supplier quality system audits/surveys as needed.
• Ensure counterfeit part avoidance and GIDEP alerts with suppliers.
• Communicate quality issues and develop corrective actions.
• Assess supplier capabilities via technical discussions and quality assessments.
• Conduct supplier site visits to deliver score cards and RCCA training.
• Build cross-functional relationships to reduce vendor defects.
