Job Description

We seek a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer experienced in manufacturing, process control, and monitoring of electronic assemblies. The role involves defect prevention, inspection, acceptance, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You will ensure suppliers have robust manufacturing and acceptance plans to deliver first-time quality to BAE Systems. Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC/ECA J-STD-002 standards is required. Responsibilities include investigating quality issues, trend analysis, leading improvement projects, and applying problem-solving tools.

This position requires self-motivation, data-driven decision-making, and travel (approximately 50%) to suppliers across the country. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration and understanding requirements.

This role reports to the Electronics Category Supplier Quality Manager.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery expectations.
  • Promote preventive and predictive quality practices, including APQP and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Use scorecards and metrics to evaluate supplier performance and develop improvement plans.
  • Address nonconforming products and ensure effective corrective actions.
  • Lead problem-solving activities like 8D to prevent recurrence.
  • Support supplier development and perform source inspections.
  • Conduct and evaluate First Article Inspections per AS9102 standards.

This is a full-time remote position.

Minimum Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or 6-8 years of experience without a degree.
  • Experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role.
  • Knowledge of inspections, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and clear communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline.
  • Experience in aerospace or defense electronics.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102C, AS9145, IPC standards, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Experience with product testing, equipment, and electronics components.
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Eligibility for security clearance from the Department of Defense.

Pay Range

Full-Time Salary: $95,106 - $161,680

Note: Salaries depend on various factors including skills, experience, and market conditions.
