Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee supplier quality across an industrial manufacturing environment, with a focus on electrical components. You will manage initial inspections, develop robust processes, and drive corrective actions using CAPA, 8D, and 5 Why methodologies.

Responsibilities include leading supplier performance, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing PPAP activities to validate components before production.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on management of supplier quality processes and performance.
• Strong knowledge of CAPA, 5 Why, 8D and root cause analysis.
• Experience with inspection control and initial inspection of parts/materials.
• Practical understanding of ISO 9001 and its application in production.
• Experience working with electrical components in supplier quality contexts.
• Ability to interpret GD&T in inspection and quality evaluations.
• Proficiency with PPAP for validating new or changed components.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier quality performance to meet internal and customer standards.
• Lead initial inspections for all incoming parts and materials.
• Develop and improve supplier quality processes and procedures.
• Apply structured problem solving (8D, CAPA, 5 Why) for quality issues.
• Conduct root cause analyses to identify and eliminate defects.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve supplier performance.
• Utilize CAPA to resolve quality problems and drive improvements.
• Perform inspection control activities and document results.
• Manage PPAP activities with suppliers for new or changed components.
• Collaborate with suppliers on quality expectations and improvements.
• Interpret GD&T and ensure ISO 9001 alignment in processes.
• Support manufacturing operations with reliable conforming components.
• Monitor supplier quality metrics and trends, recommending actions.
