Job summary

American Rheinmetall in Michigan is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support new product development and manufacturing, ensuring quality meets standards and regulatory requirements, and representing the organization with suppliers.

You will lead APQP activities, participate in PPAP/FAI/Control Plans, and employ SPC/MSA tools, root-cause analysis, and Lean methods to drive defect reduction and process improvements. Collaboration with manufacturing and suppliers is essential.

Qualifications

• AS9100 and IS14001 knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and understand GD&T.
• Experience with quality documentation (PPAP, FAI, Control Plans).
• Background checks and controlled substance testing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Support adherence to quality management systems.
• Create and maintain quality documentation and work instructions.
• Participate in APQP with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements.
• Review contracts for customer-specific requirements.
• Lead Corrective/Preventive Action teams to resolve issues.
• Apply SPC/MSA tools and participate in supplier qualification activities.
• Prepare documentation for inspections and submissions (PPAP, FAI, etc.).
• Train inspectors and support plant quality activities.
