Job summary

Amprius Technologies, headquartered in Fremont, California, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to own supplier quality for a set of materials and contract manufacturers. You will qualify new sources, monitor performance, and lead root‑cause investigations and permanent fixes in collaboration with the supply manager.

The role requires 3+ years in supplier or manufacturing quality, hands‑on audits, PPAP or first‑article approval, and 8D/CAPA.

Qualifications

Requires 3+ years in supplier quality or manufacturing quality for manufactured hardware.
Experience with supplier audits, PPAP or first-article approval, and 8D or CAPA.
Working knowledge of FMEA, control plans, SPC and measurement system analysis.
Clear communicator who can hold suppliers to requirements while maintaining relationships.
Willing to travel internationally, 25–40%, including Asia.

Responsibilities

Audit new and existing suppliers and CMs against AS9100, ISO 9001 and Amprius requirements.
Lead PPAP or first-article approval for new materials, second sources and new CM production lines.
Define incoming inspection plans, material specs and acceptance criteria with R&D and Manufacturing Quality.
Support transfer of new cell designs into CM production, including control plans and FMEAs.
Track yield, defects and on-time data; publish quarterly quality reviews with suppliers and CMs.
