Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO. The role is on-site with suppliers across a 5-state area, primarily in the St. Louis region, with occasional coverage elsewhere.

Key responsibilities include developing quality metrics, supporting supplier selection, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements through Level 2 and Level 3 activities. Travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or CS.
  • 1+ years RCCA and failure analysis experience.
  • 1+ years in the defense or aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Research contractual and Boeing QMS requirements for proposals and programs.
  • Develop quality metrics and certification plans to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participate in reviews to ensure quality attributes in designs.
  • Perform data analysis to confirm readiness and dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Represent Quality on teams and integrate QMS requirements across processes.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Berkeley, MO.

Successful candidate will work on-site at suppliers located in 5 state area but primarily located in the St. Louis region. This person will serve as a back-up as needed for other regions as well.

Position Responsibilities
Level 2
  • Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Works under general supervision
Level 3
  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) and failure analysis
  • 1+ years of experience in the defense or aerospace industry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or supplier quality related roles
  • Level 3: More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Travel

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range

Associate, Level 2: $83,300 - $112,700

Experienced, Level 3: $100,300 - $135,700
