Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support the Supplier Quality Manager and ensure suppliers' processes align with design intent. You will verify supplier systems for compliance with PowerSecure requirements and drive ongoing supply chain verification and risk analysis.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in supplier quality, strong analytical and communication skills, and hands-on experience with ERP systems and ASQ-certified quality practices.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in mechanical, electrical or equivalent engineering degree.
• ASQ certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Practical, hands-on experience in supply chain development, qualifying and
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Experience with fabrication or electrical switchgear components preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP or IFS preferred).
• Experience with Advanced Quality Planning tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA preferred.
• Experience with auditing and evaluating new suppliers preferred.
• Experience with evaluating and improving measurement systems.
• Expertise in structured root cause analysis tools (8D, 5-Why, Red X, Ect)

Responsibilities

• Execute PowerSecure Supplier Quality Functions, including Advanced Quality Planning and Continuous Improvement.
• Manage supplier qualification process, including reviewing qualification documents and performing on-site audits; assess capabilities and capacity.
• Monitor and analyze quality performance driving measurable KPI improvements.
• Improve new supplier introduction, qualification, technical evaluations, and approvals processes.
• Evaluate and make recommendations on supplier selections; drive supplier continuous improvement and approve supplier corrective actions.
• Perform risk analysis to define incoming inspection requirements.
• Support quality system changes and enhancements to drive manufacturing efficiencies and meet shipment commitments.
• Drive a "Right the First Time" mentality within the supply base.
• Work with engineering to review assembly specifications related to manufacturability.
• Participate in internal quality system audits.
• Represent and encourage a continuous improvement culture within manufacturing.
• Travel to supplier sites to lead audits, perform process reviews, evaluate QC practices, and validate corrective actions; travel up to 50%
