Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA seeks a Program Supplier Quality Engineer to be the primary interface between the supplier base and internal stakeholders on critical, technically advanced programs. You will ensure flow down of requirements and drive quality improvements across the supply base.

Responsibilities include leading RCCA, Six Sigma/Lean initiatives, applying APQP for supplier performance, and traveling up to 25% for assessments and audits. Must have U.S. citizenship and an active DoD clearance.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with one or more of the following Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100 and AS9145.
  • Experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Interface between supplier base and internal stakeholders to ensure flow down of requirements through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and supplier statements of work.
  • Drive continuous product and process improvements of the supplier base using tools like RCCA, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies.
  • Apply APQP processes related to supplier performance and implementation of engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.
  • Travel up to 25% to support supplier assessments, audits, and reviews.
  • Represent quality during reviews covering supplier designs, process changes, qualification tests, and procedures.

As a Program Supplier Quality Engineer here at Raytheon, you will be the primary interface between our supplier base and internal stakeholders of critical and technically advanced Programs. This is an Onsite role in Goleta, CA. You will ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and supplier statement of works. Interpreting program requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements. Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers. Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including: Root Cause Corrective Actions, Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies. Application of APQP processes related to supplier performance and implementation of necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes. Can anticipate some travel (Up to 25%) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews. Represent quality during review boards covering changes to: supplier designs, process changes, qualification tests, and procedure reviews. The position primarily interfaces with the program team in the Goleta, CA area in an onsite work schedule. Some travel can be expected as part of this role (Up to 25%).

What You Will Learn:

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline. Previous experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Experience with one or more of the following Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100 and AS9145. Previous experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.) Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/ customers. Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery. Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and collaborating remotely. Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 Requirements for APQP & PPAP, and FAI Standard AS9102. Experience working with one or more of the following aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools – Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Lean Manufacturing, Control Plans, other process improvement tools General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.) Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
