Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Lead Supplier Development/Quality Engineer (SDE/SQE) to lead supplier quality for EV accessory programs in Michigan. You will audit suppliers, manage APQP/PPAP, and drive KPI-based performance with both domestic and international partners.

You will collaborate with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure safety, reliability, and seamless integration of exterior/interior EV accessories while meeting aggressive delivery timelines.

Qualifications

Four-year degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Materials Science, or Supply Chain Management.
10+ years of direct Supplier Quality Engineering or Development experience, or 5+ years at a start-up preferably with automotive accessories.
Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, lean principles and continuous improvement.
Experience with low-voltage systems and automotive accessory integration is a strong plus.
Knowledge of supplier KPIs, scorecards, and accountability for quality and delivery.
Familiarity with automotive safety and electrical/mechanical integration standards.
Ability to read GD&T drawings and interpret specifications.
ERP and eQMS usage to track supplier performance and traceability.
Problem solving with 8D, 6Sigma, and related methods.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
High integrity and adaptability to a fast-paced startup.

Evaluate suppliers for production awards and overall quality performance.

Job Description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and experienced Lead Supplier Development/Quality Engineer (SDE/SQE) to join our growing team. This SDE/SQE will lead aspects of supplier quality and performance for EV-specific vehicle accessories, working closely with suppliers of Exterior and Interior systems and add-ons, particularly for our SUV variant. You’ll ensure our accessories meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and integration with our electric platforms — on budget and on time.

In this position the candidate will be responsible for performing domestic and international supplier audits, administer the APQP process, hold supplier(s) accountable to our Quality Requirements Manual, develop implement supplier partner KPI/scorecard and implement actions to improve hold suppliers accountable to perform.
The SQE will also be pivotal in evaluating suppliers for production awards, all aspects of supplier quality performance, developing strong supplier relationships, and working with all internal stakeholders to support the company’s overall objectives and core values.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM :

Four-year degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Materials Science, or Supply Chain Management.
10+ years of direct Supplier Quality Engineering or Development experience, or 5+ years at a start-up preferably with automotive accessories.
Excellent working knowledge of quality systems, processes, methods, tools and standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, lean principles, and continuous improvement.
Hands-on experience with low-voltage systems, exterior/ interior accessory integration, and smart tech features is a strong plus.
Strong working knowledge of supplier KPIs, scorecard development, and holding suppliers accountable for quality and delivery.
Familiarity with automotive safety, mechanical and electrical integration standards, especially as they relate to EV accessory systems.
Ability to interpret and review technical drawings and GD&T standards for accessory fitment and installation.
Experience working with ERP and eQMS systems to track supplier performance and part traceability.
Very strong problem-solving capabilities with good working knowledge of 8Ds, 6Sigma, Shanin etc.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
High level of integrity and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
